Biography
My home and studio are nestled among century-old pines in Gatineau Park, Quebec, Canada. It is a landscape that I could only dream of while growing up in cosmopolitan Montreal. At university I studied sciences and completed a master in environmental studies. I went into the field of nature interpretation and education, working at Ontario Parks and the Canadian Museum of Nature. During a break in my career I changed course, and decided to build on a lifetime of being a "maker".
A love of nature, design, and beauty fuels my art, my aesthetic being one of studied simplicity. I create two and three-dimensional pieces with textiles and fibres, including cotton, paper, silk, and wool.
My work is held in the Global Affairs Canada Visual Arts Collection, the City of Ottawa Fine Art Collection and my exhibition history includes General Fine Craft, Almonte, Ontario; World of Threads Festival, Oakville, Ontario; Darrell Bell Gallery, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Wall Space Gallery, Ottawa, Ontario.
